Shay Saulsgiver
Registered Massage Therapist
Shay Saulsgiver began his post-secondary journey studying sciences at Vancouver Island University, initially aiming to become a biology teacher. Realizing the traditional classroom wasn’t the right fit, he looked for a career that combined his interest in the human body, his desire to help others, and his love of hands-on work.
A graduate of West Coast College of Massage Therapy, Shay developed a strong foundation in deep tissue and myofascial techniques, particularly for athletic and persistent injuries. Over the years, he’s honed a style he calls deep relaxation treatment—a method that allows him to apply significant therapeutic pressure while minimizing post-treatment soreness or recovery time. Shay takes pride in delivering results-driven care that feels grounded, safe, and effective.
While his time working in a downtown Victoria spa helped shape his treatment flow, Shay has since moved beyond gentler approaches in favor of more targeted, therapeutic work. Today, he blends relaxation with clinical intent to create personalized treatments that meet his clients where they are—both physically and emotionally.
In addition to his clinical practice, Shay has been a clinical instructor at Camosun College for over three years, where he helps future RMTs refine their skills and build confidence. Mentorship is a central part of Shay’s practice philosophy, and he’s excited to carry that passion forward in his role at Pursuit Physiotherapy.
Outside the clinic, you’ll often find Shay playing guitar, spending time with family, or woodworking—a craft he learned from his grandfather, and one that continues to fuel his love of working with his hands.
