During your initial physiotherapy treatment

When you arrive to for your initial physiotherapy treatment, our front desk will greet you, check you in, and make sure we have all the patient information we need for your visit.

Your physiotherapist will start your session in the treatment room and conduct an extensive assessment on your health history, injury, movement and any pain you are experiencing. Your physiotherapist will carry out any relevant tests while also taking into account your lifestyle and any all elements that influence your recovery and performance. After the assessment, our physiotherapists will educate you on your specific injury or condition and create a tailored treatment program to help you meet your goals. This may include:

  • Evidence based education

  • Manual therapy - include mobilizations and manipulation of joints, trigger point release, and active release techniques.

  • IMS/Dry needling - technique to reset muscle and nerve activity through the use of thin acupuncture needles.

  • Exercise programming - Lasting physical change occurs through activity. Your therapist will guide you through home, gym, or activity-specific movements to build your resiliency.

As a part of your treatment plan, your physiotherapist will email you any information and exercises discussed during your session. Any follow-up appointments will be organized by the front desk staff for you!
