What to expect on Your Physiotherapy Appointment
When you arrive at our Victoria clinic for your first physiotherapy appointment, our friendly front desk team will greet you, check you in, and make sure we have all the information we need for your visit.
Your Initial Assessment
Your physiotherapist will meet you in the treatment room and start with a thorough assessment. They’ll ask about your health history, your injury, any pain you’re experiencing, and observe your movement. They may perform some tests, and they’ll also consider your lifestyle and daily activities—everything that could affect your recovery and performance.
Personalized Treatment Plan
After your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain what’s going on and work with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your goals. Your plan may include:
Evidence-based Education
We love sharing practical tips and advice to help you understand your body and stay healthy.
Manual Therapy
Hands-on techniques like joint mobilizations, trigger point release, and active release methods to ease pain and improve movement.
IMS / Dry Needling*
Fine acupuncture needles are used to reset muscle and nerve activity, helping your body recover more efficiently.
Exercise Programming
Targeted exercises for home, gym, or your specific activities—because lasting change comes from movement. Your therapist will guide you through exercises to build strength, flexibility, and resilience.
After your appointment, your physiotherapist will email you any exercises or information discussed during your session. Our front desk team will also help schedule any follow-up visits, so everything is taken care of.
